The “BePresent” app has started to do wonders for my productivity. This app uses accountability and goal setting to help you be more productive in your everyday life. Syncing with your screen time app, “BePresent” allows for more personalized customization of your screen time limits, tailoring the best plan for you.

2026 Goal Two: Cut screen time down to under 4 hours a day. The app calculated my average screen time and told me I would spend 24 years on my phone... That is so alarming. Given that the average person sleeps for 25-27 years, that’s around 50 years of my life that I am not living! I don’t want to live like that.

Why doomscroll? Its addicting because it guarantees novelty and stimulation. This has a ripple effect on small things, like getting a homework assignment done in a timely manner, and large things, like sleep quality and the depth of your relationships. I’ve recognized that when I’m doomscrolling, I can’t even recall a video I had watched 1 minute, or 3 scrolls ago. This is so bad for your health! It’s hollowing. You’re not living.

Getting into the science of why it’s bad for all aspects of life would make this post way too long. That’s something that can be easily researched. However, the “BePresent” app has helped me set these limits to achieve my goal:

1. No social media apps from 7 AM - 12:30 PM, and from 9 PM - 12 AM (I know these aren’t social media apps, but this excludes iMessages, email, banking, school, and other essential apps like maps, weather, calendar, etc.). The worst start to your day and end to your night is aimlessly scrolling social media apps.

2. Can only access TikTok for 5 minutes, 3 times a day. This honestly has completely kept me off the app, unless I am trying to quickly find a review of a movie, place, or album. While TikTok is a complete black hole for you, some informational aspects of it can be helpful.

3. At any point during the day, I can click a button to block all my apps for up to 2 hours. This is a great tactic I have been using when needing to do deep work. It completely keeps me off my phone.

Overall, “BePresent” is the start of a digital detox and improvement of your health. I highly recommend downloading it; it helps you take small steps toward your goals. This is TMI, but due to this, I’ve experienced some of the best sleep of my life. There’s nothing like waking up refreshed with a little bit of drool. It means I was out for the count!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my own personal website. For a while, I’ve envisioned having a centralized website where I can place all my projects, accomplishments, thoughts, and more. I finally had the time to bring this vision to life. Hope you enjoy!

I will continue to update the website as I go through my day-to-day. I want this to be professional, but also showcase my personality. We are transitioning to an environment where everything is starting to feel more robotic. I want to bleed some personality into everything I do, as I believe being authentic and real is just as important as being professional.

This section will function like a blog. I will share my thoughts, peace of mind, and updates on what I am doing. If I am paying to publish this website, the least I can do for myself is write on it on a consistent basis.

My school was supposed to start today, but Maryland is a sheet of ice right now. Therefore, my campus is shut down today and tomorrow (as of now). I’m spending this off time by continuing to prepare for the start of school and getting prepared for a few interviews:

2026 Goal One: Do not procrastinate (No sloth). I want to be ahead of the 8-ball on all my tasks this year, as it has hurt my productivity in the past. Being prepared is an amazing feeling that I’ve recognized I would like to feel consistently. I’ve started using Google Calendar (I know I’m late) and a whiteboard in my room to block off time in each day to do tasks. Better structure leads to better progress.

As I start to update this blog, I will reveal more of what I am doing to achieve my goals and live my life. I will try to keep posts small for readability purposes. It’s easier to read/ want to read a concise piece of text, so I will not ramble on here.
